Central Greece

One of the most beautiful areas of Greece, that consists of Aitoloakarnania, Evritania, Fokida, Fthiotida, Boeotia, Evia and Attica.

The region offers exquisite destinations all year round, traditional stone-built villages, historic monasteries and the world’s unique archeological site of Delphi. It combines mountain and sea including some of the most important national natural sites, ski resorts and beautiful beaches with turquoise waters.

There are at least 50 hiking trails in the Mont Parnassos – including the E4 international trail. In this mountain there is the largest and best organized ski resort in Greece. In Evritania there is also the well-known Velouchi ski resort with spectacular views. Karpenissi, the historic capital of Evritania, offers many hotels and restaurants with magnificent views, while in proximity Galaxidi, the port town, consists of elegant neoclassicals and old captains’ mansions.

One of the most important rivers, Acheloos delimits the borders of Evritania and Aitoloakarnania and forms the two lagoons of Messolonghi and Melite. Two important lakes of the region, Yliki and Paralimni, supply the Marathon lake and Attica.

Among the most beautiful beaches of Central Greece Glyfa, Agios Konstantinos, Kamena Vourla in Fthiotida, Agios Isidoros and Plaka in Boeotia, and of course the unparalleled beaches of the island of Evia.
