Thassos

Thassos is the northern-most Aegean island, the so-called island of the Sirens, because of its exceptional natural beauty.

The island’s golden sandy beaches and lush green pine forests, offer amazing color combinations. Nature lovers can take the trails from the beaches to the hills and the mountains, lakes, cascades, on foot or by mountain bike, discovering beautiful villages retaining their authentic traditional charm. For those enjoying water sports, water skiing and windsurfing is ideal at Chrysi Ammoudia, Pefkari, Psili Ammos and Paradise beach. Boat rides reach to the most isolated beaches all over the island.

Limenas is the main port of Thassos and its capital since Αntiquity. The island’s remarkable history is evident through all its important monuments, such as the ancient agora, the sanctuaries of Herakles, Dionysos, Artemis and Poseidon and the Acropolis with its incredible view and the 5th century BC theatre.

Though it is one of the least developed Greek islands touristically speaking, it is conveniently located close to the International Airports of Kavala and Thessaloniki, and only 30min by boat from Keramoti port.
